Since I was little, I have always enjoyed mathematics. All of my maths awards are listed at the bottom of the page. I’m going to put more effort into my studies and schedule my time better so that I will do more mathematics research outside of the classroom. Every mathematics competition is enjoyable to me.
I’ve never thought maths to be tough. I practiced past years’ questions and attended the mathematics training sessions offered by the school and the Singapore Mathematics Society to prepare for the Mathematics Olympiad. After a while, I became familiar with the questions. I also enjoy exploring new approaches to solving problems because it gives me more flexibility in my thinking.
I will commit myself to mathematics. Perhaps one day I will be a mathematics teacher, researcher, or in other careers that require mathematics as a foundation, like computing, engineering, etc.
Here is a brief overview of my mathematics national competition awards. I was invited to GEP Round 2. I have been sent to various mathematics training and competitions since then. I was rewarded “Credit” in the ICAS competition at P3, and through hard work, I was rewarded “Distinction” in the ICAS competition at P4. Besides, my REACH math competition was “Outstanding,” my RIPMWC math competition was “Distinction,” and my NMOS math competition was “Bronze” at P5. In P6, despite the heavy homework and PSLE pressure, I continued to attend math competitions. I won “Merit” at RMO and “Silver” at APMOPS at P6. I like mathematics, because it trains my mind to be more logical and agile. I have decided to devote myself to mathematics studies and research. When I grow up, I may be a mathematics teacher, a computer scientist, or even the ground staff of medicine using mathematics as its basis for data modelling.
Below are all my mathematical awards.
