Scratch (4 Projects)

Project 1: Countdown to End of Year

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1366920182

Project Description: This is literally a countdown to the end of the year. A cool part is that it will always work no matter what year it is. It has leap years coded into it, music, and a colour-shifting background.

– A visible working countdown that shows the number of months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds remaining.

– Labeled numbers and a changing color background

– Able to change between two modes (weekless or normal countdown)

– Able to change the brightness of the background

– Will reset every year by automation and even calculates leap year stuff

Project 2: 2 Player Tag

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1137497557

Project Description: A multiplayer game containing movement physics, including acceleration, gravity, and friction.

– A game for 2 people. It consists of a seeker, a runner, portals, and a lot more.

– The seeker has to catch the runner within the given time. The runner can crouch, but the seeker can’t, allowing the runner to escape more easily. The seeker can spawn an immovable clone, winning if the runner touches it.

– You can choose how long the game should last and which controls are for the seeker and the runner respectively. You can click ‘r’ to reset.

Project 3: Arcadia

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1326881651

Project Description: A single-player boss-fighting game, featuring custom art assets and relatively good enemy behaviour loops.

A solo player dungeon game that allows you to fight bosses.

– Inspired by Hollow Knight, I created an enclosed arena to fight against bosses (boss descriptions are in the project)

-Energy bar which allows you to dash, heal, or attack.

– Health bar to show how much health you have left.

– Relatively complex bosses that range from quite easy to hard.

– Death screen and sound effects. It also shows you how close you were to beating the boss on the death screen.

Project 4: Bad Apple

 https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1367447827

Project Description: Using base64 decoding, I managed to create a 360p resolution

– Very famous for the ‘bad apple, but it’s animated with ——’ trend.

– I chose Bad Apple because it has the motto: if it has two colours, you can animate Bad Apple on it, and variables in Scratch have two distinct colours on them.

– Used custom Base64 array decoding to convert raw data strings to Braille character matrices, inserting the Base64 lines of code to create a smooth animation layout.

– Quite efficient coding

– Runs extremely smoothly; even if you decrease your fps, it will still work smoothly because of the debugged structural variable parameters to ensure smooth real-time visual output and smooth software rendering workflows. This allows it to run at about 300 tps, making it extremely smooth.

– Achieved 360p playback quality

** All projects were independently developed by me in my free time using Scratch on the iPad.
